I bought a house that had been remodeled and have since realized that the remodel was stupid.?

The former owner did slab on grade to save money rather than matching the crawl space. As such, there is a large step in the middle of my house and a stupid/ugly pitch on my roof. Is it best to just tear the whole addition off, or can I just raise the floor and roof to match the rest of the house?
